Went for a run for the first time in 5 weeks (++). First I felt like I was having an asthma attack, then a heart attack, then appendicitis. So my run turned into a walk. Decided to work my lungs by singing instead. Hope nobody heard me.

Guess it hurts less every year. It's a bit like being in a twilight zone. Not entirely sure which emotion is real and which is rehashed or imagined. Sometimes we cling to any form of support we have, just so we don't lose ourselves.

Sai Weng Shi Ma - Yan Zhi Fei Fu (Sai Weng lost his horse - who knows if this is bad or good?)

This is a story of an old man who lived near the northern borders of imperial China. The story tells that when his best horse escaped and to the mountains, Sai Weng's friends tried to console him but to their amazement Sai Weng remained optimistic and saying that maybe this unfortunate event will lead to something good.

It wasn't long before the horse returned home with another fine steed. One day Sai Weng's elder son wanted to try riding the new horse where upon he fell and broke his leg - the neighbors laughed when the old man believed that this accident may lead to positive ramifications.

Again, it wasn't long before the imperial guard arrived at the village to recruit all elder sons to a war in the south. Being injured, Sai Weng's son could not participate which meant that he stayed alive while most of the people who were drafted perished....the story goes on where tragic events lead to fortunate consequences and vice versa.

The moral of the story is that we shouldn't let bad experiences put us down. We need to see life in a wide perspective and understand that something bad may very well lead to a good outcome. it is close to the English "Every cloud has its silver lining", or "Every misfortune has a blessing in disguise".
